Terms of Service
Last updated 2026-10-12
These are the terms you contract on. They are written to Schedule 3 of the Consumer Rights Act 2022, which lists what a trader must tell you before you are bound — each section says which part of that schedule it answers, so you can see what is here and what is missing.
Where the law gives you a right, these terms say so even when it costs us something. Where they would try to take one away, they have no effect: s.99 of that Act makes a waiver of your rights void, and a term restricting them not binding on you.
What you are buying
Schedule 3(a), (w), (x) CRA 2022
ManageTax is software for keeping Irish books and preparing Irish tax returns. You enter or import your records, it keeps them in double entry, and it produces the working papers, computations and filing documents that follow from them. Which parts are available to you depends on the modules you bought, and the pricing page lists what each module and bundle includes.
It runs in a current web browser and needs an internet connection. There is nothing to install and no licence key. Your records can be exported at any time as CSV or spreadsheet files, which are readable by any accounting or spreadsheet software — the data is yours and it is not locked in.
It is a tool, not an adviser. It computes what the rules say on the figures you give it, and it shows its working so you can check it. It does not know anything about your circumstances that you have not told it, and nothing it produces is tax advice. Where a figure matters, check it against Revenue's own guidance or ask a qualified adviser — and if the software and Revenue disagree, Revenue is right.
Who you are contracting with
Schedule 3(b), (d), (e) CRA 2022
MANAGETAX LIMITED, trading as ManageTax.
Established at 83 CASTLECURRAGH HEATH, MULHUDDART, DUBLIN, DUBLIN 15, D15 T3P6, IRELAND. Email office@managetax.ie. Telephone 0832000575. CRO 755323. Not registered for VAT.
Complaints go to the same address.
What it costs
Schedule 3(f), (h) CRA 2022
The price for each module or bundle is the one shown on the pricing page at the moment you order. That figure is the total: it is what leaves your account each billing period and nothing is added at checkout.
MANAGETAX LIMITED is not registered for VAT in Ireland, so no VAT is charged on these prices and none appears on anything we issue. There is therefore no VAT for a business customer to reclaim on them. If that registration status changes, this page will say so before it affects a price you pay.
A monthly price is charged every month and an annual price once a year; the pricing page says which applies to what you chose. If we change a price it applies from your next renewal and we will tell you before it does — never mid-period, and never without notice.
Paying, and when the account opens
Schedule 3(k), (u) CRA 2022
Payment is taken by Stripe, on Stripe's own checkout page, as a subscription. We never see your card details: you enter them on Stripe's page, and there is no card field anywhere in this software. The software holds a Stripe key only to start that checkout, to make the changes to your subscription that you confirm on your Billing page, to open Stripe's billing page for you, and to read back whether your subscription is paid.
The modules you bought open automatically as soon as Stripe confirms the payment to us, which is normally within a minute of paying. Coming back from Stripe's page does not open them by itself; Stripe's confirmation does. If they are not open within one working day of paying, email office@managetax.ie and we will either open them immediately or refund you in full.
Each renewal is charged by Stripe to the payment method you gave it. If a renewal payment fails, Stripe tries again and your modules stay open for a short grace period while it does. If the payment still cannot be taken the modules close; everything you recorded stays in your account, where you can read and download it.
There is no minimum term beyond the period you have paid for and no set-up fee. You are not tied in.
How long it lasts and how to end it
Schedule 3(t) CRA 2022
A subscription runs for the period you paid for and renews for another one unless you end it. It has no fixed end date.
You can change what your subscription includes from the Billing page of your account, and you are shown what a change costs before you confirm it. Adding a module, moving to a bundle that includes more, or moving from monthly to annual billing takes effect straight away: you pay for the rest of the current period at the new price, less the unused part of what you had already paid. Removing a module, moving to a plan that includes less, or moving from annual to monthly billing takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for — everything stays open until then, and nothing is refunded or credited for the change. Moving to a plan that costs less, even one with the same modules, takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for in the same way, and the lower price applies from then. Each change is confirmed to you by email.
To end it, use Manage billing on the Billing page of your account, or tell us at office@managetax.ie. It then stops at the end of the period you have already paid for — you keep what you paid for and you are not charged again. We do not require notice and there is no cancellation fee.
We can end it too, but only for a serious reason — non-payment, or using the software to break the law — and we will give you reasonable notice and a proportionate refund of anything you have paid for time you will not get. A term letting us end it at will while holding you to yours would be presumed unfair under Schedule 5 of the Consumer Rights Act 2022, and we have not written one.
Whichever of us ends it, you can export your records for at least 30 days afterwards, and we will give them to you free of charge in a machine-readable format on request. That is s.117(8) and (9) of the Consumer Rights Act 2022 and it applies to what you created in the software, not just to your personal data.
Your right to cancel within 14 days
s.112, s.113(2), s.115 CRA 2022; Schedule 3(m), (p)
You have the right to cancel this contract within 14 days without giving any reason. The cancellation period expires 14 days after the day the contract is concluded — the day it is concluded is not counted — so a contract made on the 11th can be cancelled up to the end of the 25th.
To exercise it, tell us before that period expires — email office@managetax.ie, or a letter to the address above. Any clear statement will do; you do not have to use a form or give a reason. If you send it on the last day it is in time, even though we read it later. We will acknowledge it on the same day we receive it.
Here is where these terms differ from most. You will have seen software terms saying that starting to use the service ends your 14-day right. That is not the law in Ireland for a service like this one. Under s.111(c) of the Consumer Rights Act 2022 the right goes only once the service has been **fully supplied**, and a subscription that is still running has not been. Under s.99 a waiver of the right is of no effect and a term imposing one is not binding on you. So the right stands for the full 14 days whatever you clicked, and we would rather tell you that than rely on you not knowing it.
If you cancel, we reimburse you within 14 days of being told, by the same means you paid — less only the proportion set out in the next section.
What you pay if you cancel after starting
s.119 CRA 2022; Schedule 3(o)
Your modules open as soon as your payment is confirmed, because waiting a fortnight to get access to software you have bought would be absurd. Before you pay, you tick a box asking us to start straight away. That is an express request that performance begin during the cancellation period, and the email confirming your subscription repeats it, so you have a record of what you asked for. When you add modules to a subscription that is already running you are asked the same for the new modules, and the email confirming the change repeats it.
The consequence, and this is the part s.119 requires us to tell you: if you then cancel within the 14 days, you are liable to pay for what you actually used. The amount is worked out in proportion — the days from the start of the period up to and including the day you told us, over the days in the period, applied to the price agreed. Nothing else. There is no fee, no deduction and no minimum.
If we have failed to give you this information, or the cancellation information above, or if you never asked us to start early, then you pay nothing at all for the time used and the whole payment comes back. That is s.119(5), and it is the rule that applies against us rather than for us.
What we owe you if it does not work
Schedule 3(q) CRA 2022
We are under a legal obligation to supply a digital service that conforms with the contract — that it is what we described, fit for what such software is normally used for, supplied with the updates you would reasonably expect, and of the quality you would reasonably expect. That obligation is in Part 4 of the Consumer Rights Act 2022 and nothing on this page reduces it.
If it does not conform, you can require us to bring it into conformity, and if we cannot or do not do so within a reasonable time you are entitled to a price reduction or to end the contract and be refunded. These rights are yours in addition to anything else on this page, not instead of it.
What we do not promise is that the tax answer is right for your circumstances. The computation follows the rules on the figures you enter; if the figures are wrong, or your situation is one the rules treat differently, the output will be wrong and correctly so. You remain the person who signs the return and the person Revenue asks.
What we need from you
Keep your password to yourself and tell us if you think someone else has it. Enter figures that are true — the software will flag what it can, but it cannot tell an honest mistake from an invention. Do not use the account to do something illegal, and do not try to break into anyone else's.
If you are a practitioner working on clients' records, you are responsible for having their authority to do so. We hold their data on your instruction and we log every access to it, including yours.
Support
Schedule 3(r) CRA 2022
Support is by email at office@managetax.ie, included with every module and bundle, with no separate charge and no ticket limit. We aim to answer within two working days.
There is no commercial guarantee beyond your legal rights. We have not written one, because a guarantee that adds nothing to what the Act already gives you is decoration.
Complaints and disputes
Schedule 3(l), (y) CRA 2022
Complain to us first, at office@managetax.ie or in writing to 83 CASTLECURRAGH HEATH, MULHUDDART, DUBLIN, DUBLIN 15, D15 T3P6, IRELAND. We acknowledge within five working days and give a substantive answer within twenty.
We do not subscribe to an alternative dispute resolution scheme and are not bound by a code of practice, so there is no ADR body to escalate to. If you have seen terms pointing you at the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform, note that it was discontinued on 20 July 2025 when Regulation (EU) 2024/3228 repealed the regulation behind it — it is not a route to anything and we will not send you there.
What you can do: contact the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission, and, for cross-border purchases within the EU, the European Consumer Centre Ireland. This contract is governed by Irish law and the Irish courts have jurisdiction, and as a consumer you keep the protection of the mandatory rules of the country you live in.
